Community Climate Change Plans
Climate action plans generally include greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets and
detail actions the organization can take to help meet those goals.
The plans may also include
additional components such as resilience strategies, clean energy targets, and economic and
social goals.
The two major areas to address climate change include improving energy efficiency and opting
for renewable energy over fossil fuels. Followed by promoting public transport and sustainable
mobility using zero-emission technology.
Decarbonization of Transportation Plan
For the transportation sector, electrification means replacing fossil fuels with electricity as the means of powering light-duty vehicles, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and buses.
The primary goal is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and, ultimately, contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change on the planet.
We believe that renewable energy growth and electrification of transportation (EoT) are complementary, greater clean energy impacts and customer value can be created by achieving both in tandem.
Building Electrification Plan
Building electrification is crucial in the against climate change, as it addresses the significant 31% of energy-related CO2 emissions attributed to building operations in the U.S.
By transitioning from fossil fuels like natural gas to electricity for heating and cooking, we can create all-electric buildings powered by renewable sources such as solar and wind.
